A weekly visual encounter with someone who elaborates on their relationship with animals.
Alexandre Deshayes, Maurice & Helmut
Alexandre is an interior designer, Maurice has been as gentle as a lamb since he was one year old, and there is Helmut, also known as Bijou, who, despite the rumours, has never destroyed the sofa. After having his first dog, Jack, Alexandre knew exactly what he wanted to do with Maurice, a whippet, who loves children, walks in the forest and sleeps.
Pascal & TiPunch
Pascal lives with his partner, his three children, and TiPunch (named after the famous "vitamin drink"), an omnipresent parrot. Apart from the two cats, TiPunch has already bitten everyone in the house who tries to get hold of Pascal: the parrot refuses to share.
Simon & Dakota
Simon wanted to name his dog after an American state: South Dakota Dog was written on the animal's passport. But in reality, whether they are in the countryside or in Paris where they share their time equally, she is called Dakota.
Nathalie & Sweety
Sweety is the most devoted spectator of Nathalie's rehearsals - who is a choreographer and performance artist. The dog attentively watches the movements, contractions and extravagances of her mother and the dancers around her, who also provide her with many cuddles.
Marina & Carmen
Because she defines herself as a genuine “cat person”, Marina began researching breeds of cats: she discovered that Korats are playful, sociable and very attached to the humans they live with. She fell in love with "their gray coat, their green eyes, and their small size" and adopted Carmen; for life.
Geff & Esta
As a child, Geff had animals - gerbils, guinea pigs, a mouse or a goldfish,... which he loved but cared for little. Geff's relationship with Esta, a friendly black poodle, contradicts his friends' predictions.
Armand, Marius & Xolux
Female or male? Armand and Marius, share their living room with an axolotl Yogi and maggot eater. Armand chose Xolux at the pet shop with the butterflies in his stomach, and it's with great joy that the two roommates occupy themselves with feeding him.
Lia & Rosie
Like Rosie, all the animals I was surrounded by as a child (cats, doves, Japanese fish, Siamese fighter fish and even mice) were considered family members, not pets. She is free to be where she wants to be and doesn't have to worry about others: when I observe her, I sometimes envy her nonchalance.
Nouchka, Tibout & Plume
Nouchka, artist and animal mediation practitioner, brings people together with her dogs. Without her work as an animal mediator, she would definitely not have had Tibout and Plume. One is the "leader of the pack" and the other is the "dog on your arm". Both of them, clingy balls of fur, bring lightness to the secure assisted living facilities (Unités de Vie Protégée, or UVP).
Luca & Perseo
Luca, organisator of fashion events and afterwards a special gift, named Perseo, who was born to live on the beach to play with the waves.
Rosalie & Stello
Rosalie adopted Stello when he could barely fit in the palm of her hand. Since then, this proud and affectionate sidekick has been making a daily appearance on stage with great success.
Henri Guette & Claude
Built on necessarily non-verbal - and very effective - communication, Henri and Claude's life together is ritualised, joyful, symbiotic and sometimes even professional.
Sohrâb & Pâris
When he is not happily climbing snow-covered mountains, Pâris, a Russian greyhound, likes to sleep (a lot). This tendency does not disturb his master Sohrâb, who is used to sharing his life with cats (much, much smaller ones).
Victorine Reinewald
A story about honesty between Victorine, a professional dog trainer, and Olrùn, a wolfhound. The adventure began on a farm not far from Le Mans and continued during a hiking trip in the Vosges, on a bicycle in the Morbihan, and which passed through the Avignon theatre festival... A relationship based on a common language, that of the body, attitude and signals.
Koffi, Virginie & Alpha Dog House
Koffi and Virginie have founded a walking and boarding company for dogs, cats and other pets. Within the barns of the estate, the meadows and the woods, they provide care and love to the animals entrusted to them as well as to those - many! - who share their lives.
Liv & Romy
Liv is a ceramic artist. During walks far from the crowd or in the large studio she shares with her brother in Pantin, she and her dog Romy have been nurturing their relationship and their respective love of solitude for over a year.
Muriel & Pénélope
Muriel is a psychologist in Paris. She adopted Pénélope several years ago. They are soul mates and go everywhere together.
Shehan & Jonie
Freelance photographer Shehan dedicates a large part of his days to his children and his dog Jonie (better educated than some uncivil Parisians whose master is exasperated!).
Louise Lavandier & Ludwig
Ludwig and Louise form a real duo: they do not leave each other's side. Louise is able to perceive the slightest variations in her canine double's moods; Ludwig, on the other hand, shows as much affection as possible and obeys when he wants to.
Sylvain, Jim & Lily
Sylvain, an engineer by training, grew up in the Alps, where he spent his childhood with animals that are very much part of our culture. However, Lily and Jim, his parrots from Gabon, remind him every day of the notions of otherness, of elsewhere and even of exoticism.
