Drawings made from images recorded on the Golden Record.

When they were launched in 1977, the Voyager 1&2 probes each carried a "Golden Record" on which sounds and images of the Earth were recorded.

At the end of 2021, Voyager 1 was more than 23 billion km from Earth and Voyager 2 more than 18 billion km. This makes Voyager 1 the furthest human artefact from Earth.

They are both in interstellar space.

NASA estimates that both probes will outlive our Earth and the Sun.
